Well, now that I am a week out from surgery, and my hands are feeling good, I thought I would work on this little bunny for a square of a friend's quilt. I should finish up this little guy today.

My son Kayden has been keeping me busy and is great company while I recover from surgery. I took this pic this weekend at the park- it was a balmy 31 degrees out, so we weren't at the park long!

On a more personal note, I graduated from treatment on January 27th. It was a really big accomplishment for me, and as it is hard to share, it is part of my recovery to do so. I was in a day treatment program for the last 6 months for a problem with prescription medication I quietly share with unfortunately so many people. Having surgery has been a true test of using a lot of the skills I learned, and coping mechanisms, to prevent a relapse. So far, my biggest issue has been falling back into isolating. It is really quite easy to withdraw for me and a huge challenge to reach out. Not having enough structure or productive things to occupy my time are my largest obstacles. I have been off work for 4 weeks now on medical leave, and I have 2 more to go. I will be super glad to be back at work, as I LOVE my job. Well, enough of that. Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings.......and I will hopefully have some new pics to post soon. God Bless :)

  1. You can use your stitching as a recovery tool. Set time aside for stitching and stick to it. If you feel a little "off" pick up your stitching. It's not easy, but it does get easier with time. Keep up the good work.
